Unity Temple
Wins Award
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unity Temple won the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation National Preservation Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation last week. The 1908 building is one of Wright’s most famous designs, and recently underwent a $25 million renovation. The temple was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site earlier this year.
Unprecedented

Unprecedented for its time and purpose, Unity Temple is a stunning masterpiece by Frank Lloyd Wright that was recently given new life with a $25 million restoration.
Restoration done Wright: A look inside Unity Temple
TheThe first thing you notice about Unity Temple’s fortress-like exterior is the door—or the lack thereof. It takes a first time visitor a moment or two to walk around the religious structure and figure out where exactly he or she is supposed to go. Architect Frank Lloyd Wright called this his “path of discovery,” and in the case of Unity Temple, the journey leads to one incredible eureka moment when you step foot in the church’s dramatic sky-lit sanctuary.
